Welcome to VSRS Fastpitch
Virginia Stingrays Recreational Softball (VSRS) is looking for players for our 8U (born 2015 or later) and 10U (born 2013-2014) divisions. Practices and home games are in the Annandale area. Fees are $100 per season ($160 for our older team(s)). We welcome girls regardless of ability or previous playing experience. Our league plays both spring and fall seasons. Our spring season takes place Mar/Apr-Jun and our fall season is Aug-Oct/Nov.
VSRS is a girls youth softball organization centered in the Bailey's Crossroads and Annandale area of Fairfax County. VSRS recently partnered with the Virginia Stingrays travel team to create an introductory level fastpitch softball program dedicated to providing girls with the opportunity to experience recreational and competitive softball in an atmosphere that encourages and promotes teamwork, friendship, and good sportsmanship.
This winter VSRS will be participating in a number of skills clinics. Returning players must be registered and paid for the spring season. - How much is registration? Registration is $100 per season for 8U and 10U players. Registration is $160 per season for the older team(s). Contact the league to request financial assistance or if you are interested in sponsoring a player.
- What equipment will my player need for the season? VSRS supplies shirts, belts and socks. The players need to supply their own black softball pants, cleats, and gloves. VSRS has helmets and protective face masks available, although many players supply their own. VSRS has bats available for use during practices and games.
- When and where are practices? Our practice fields are in the Annandale area, they change season to season. Practices are typically held once a week, with make-ups for rain outs based on field availability. Practice fields are not assigned until right before the season begins so the dates and times are sent out a week or two in advance.
- When and where are games? Games are usually on Saturdays with a small number of away games on other days of the week. As with the practice fields the home fields are not assigned until just before the season starts. Away games are at various fields around Fairfax County.
- How can I help? All coaches are parent volunteers with a range of experience from new to several years. Some coaches have occasional work or other conflicts so each team is assigned a manager along with several assistant coaches. Our coaches from our older divisions are available to help coach the coaches for our younger divisions. If you can roll a ball you can help coach fielding practice. We also have non-coach volunteers assist with recruiting, communications, uniforms, field prep, etc.
